What makes Pekin yards different
Pekin grew up on a ridge above the Illinois River and is now the second-largest city in the Peoria area. That mix shows in the yards: older neighborhoods near downtown and Mineral Springs Park with mature trees and established beds, and newer streets on the edges of town with younger landscaping.
Pekin also takes its flowers seriously. The Marigold Festival has run every September since 1973, and plenty of homeowners want front beds with real seasonal color. That means good bed prep, the right plants for sun and shade, and beds that are easy to keep up.
Common jobs
What Pekin homeowners usually call about
Flower beds and color

Shade plantings, trimming and big fall leaf drops in older neighborhoods. See trimming and leaf removal.
Good to know
Pekin rules are not Peoria’s rules
Pekin is its own city, so City of Peoria yard waste and stormwater rules don’t apply. Check yard waste pickup and any permit requirements with the City of Pekin before a big cleanup or project. We’ll ask about it when we price the job.
Before any digging, utilities get marked through JULIE (811).
